The series moves the setting to the present day
Synopsis
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living committing murders for the biggest bucks. He soon meets his match in the form of a tenacious British Secret Service officer who hunts him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel “The Day of the Jackal” is set in 1963 and involved an assassination attempt on the then French President, Charles de Gaulle.
Remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
At what point did we stop appreciating movies and TV shows because our “perfect” standards weren’t met. It’s not a perfect, award-winning cat-and-mouse drama, but it certainly doesn’t deserve the criticism it gets. As soon as I read one review saying that Eddie Redmayne should try acting, I knew the rest were just trolls.
People who have nothing better to do than spread negativity
Eddie Redmayne is a breath of fresh air in every movie I’ve seen him in. It’s a treat to see him take center stage in a TV series. Unfortunately, negative trolls are the reason so many decent shows get cancelled, as most people choose to judge a show by the critics and not their own opinion.
I was not disappointed
My advice would be to ignore all the reviews and watch the show for yourself. Be the judge of your own opinion. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
