A landowner, at least in the petroleum industry, acts as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. A landowner’s job is usually to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who own mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. They essentially manage the land and secure leases so that drilling for oil and gas can begin. Like a foreman on a construction site, they oversee roads, worker quarters (man-camp), rig assembly, and well drilling, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixers, problem solvers, and facilitators. CBS News Sunday Morning Reference: 44.24. Episode (2022). For a man so focused on his goals, bringing in an emotionally unstable one-woman circus completely defeats the purpose of the show. Instead of supporting her journey, her character seems to disrupt the central narrative and add unnecessary clutter. The portrayal doesn’t enhance the plot, but instead makes it difficult to take her determination and focus seriously. Similarly, the roles of his wife and daughter seem inconsistent within the series. The wife seems emotionally volatile, while the daughter lacks intellectual depth, making her contribution to the plot negligible. Her portrayal seems particularly shallow, with her character barely presented beyond a superficial engagement that adds no value to the story. In addition, these characters are constantly jumping around in provocative outfits for no apparent reason. Aside from attracting viewers, it feels out of place with the series’ tone. Rather than enhancing the plot or character dynamics, this approach comes across as a superficial ploy to grab attention. It’s an awkward and unnecessary addition that detracts from the overall quality of the narrative.
