Synopsis
Follows a woman and the series of erotic fantasies she entertains. Project announced at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, 2022. Remake of Emmanuelle (1974). The good: beautiful sets, often excellent photography and the film has a great atmosphere (it reminded me a bit of Lost in Translation). For its style alone, I would give it a 7/10. The rest, however, is pretty bad. No depth or character development, unnecessary and often unintentionally funny dialogues, which makes the scenes that are supposed to be erotic quite boring. And also: almost no story. If you are looking for a film made with style and no substance that makes you laugh from time to time because of its ridiculous dialogues and logic, then you will at least be entertained. But from a holistic point of view, I can’t give it more than 4/10.
